This Northern Petrel was found wandering on the road near Puponga by Bill Climo.

Bill was on his regular school bus run in the afternoon. The bird was wandering on the road near Puponga.
He took it to Richard Stocker at Puramahoi for rehabilitation.
We have since learned that unfortunately the bird died.
An autopsy was performed by a local vet, it was found to have a virus in its gut.
Maybe there will be a petrel shortage.
